Chivas win streak continues

PUEBLA, MEXICO. Chivas Guadalajara continued their winning streak outclassing Puebla FC 3 – 0. This is the 3rd win in row and 4th straight away win. Making their away record 3 wins, 2 draws and a loss. With this win the Rojiblancos move to the 8th spot for liguilla purpose and are mathematically close to staving off relegation.

Chivas honcho Matias Almeyda stated “And with this result people will say ‘Chivas is a contender’ the primary objective, which has been meet, is for Chivas to not descend.”

Chivas opened hostilities from the boot of  left winger Carlos Cisneros who placed a sublime shot past Puebla netminder Fabian Villaseñor in the 4 minute.

Upstart Angel Zaldivar would double the lead with a well taken chip over Villaseñor thanks to Isaac Brizuela‘s dynamic and creative play.

Chivas living legend Omar Bravo would enter as a substitute in the 78 minute and would quickly earn a penalty after former Chiverio member, Patricio Araujo, would unintentionally handle the ball.

Araujo was sent off for his part and headed to the showers early. Chivas and Liga MX starlet Javier Lopez failed to convert the penalty in the 80 minute.

Bravo ended his 6 month-plus goal drought by placing a shot past Villasenor who has left out hanging to dry by his defensive line.

Almeyda’s squad is gaining steam and will enter the Liga MX Liguilla with momentum.

Chivas currently sits in 8th place in the general table and 16th of 18 in the relegation table.
