We talked if Mexico got hosed. How Canada is really happy to even go to a World Cup and more. 😀
We had a last minute surprise guest on the podcast today. Wiso Vazquez from FutMexNation joined us. We shared Estadio Azteca stories and experiences as well as discussed the Mexican National Teams recent 2 qualifier games, Osorio’s status as coach and more!

This episode, we talk the upcoming Mexico world cup qualifier with Los Ticos in El Azteca. Main highlights: Mexico is treating this as an away game. Mexico should play cat and mouse game by conceding possession to counteract the inevitable Tico bunker. Azteca need not be an option with mostly Euro based call ups.
We also discuss the last LigaMX week, where Chivas continues to impress and win over members of our panel. Lavolpe even got some love and I mentioned that they should keep him and resign over the summer. Pelaez or whoever got rid of Sambu and Oswaldo Martinez should be questioned for not bringing back equivalent talented players.
Enjoy the show!
This episode we had another guest, Steve Graff! He joined us for the entire discussion as we had loads of fun talking LigaMX. We discussed the Veracruz/Tigres/Tuca sanctions and basically how corruption continues. We talked the Chivas meltdown and how Jaguares continue to play up to their competition. We also discussed the Cruz Azul loss to America. Steve mentioned he is an America fan so we played his special Aguila theme song. Ron was tearing up for his Wilas as well. We also discussed the U-20 Mexican team who loses to US but still beats El Salvador to qualify for the U-20 World Cup.
Thanks for listening!
Another show, another special guest. Jason Marquitz aka @soccermexicana joined us to talk Cruz Azul and his history following the club. We talked about their current woes as well as those of Club America. Sad times, but we had some good discussion.
We had good participation in the live chat as well. Thanks to all those that participated. One topic of discussion that came up was the personal rumors and speculation of Chicharito and his break up with Lucia Villalon. I attacked Cheech, while others defended San Chicha! We also discussed Tuca’s behavior and out of line statements during the Veracruz fiasco. I was hating on all fronts and the chat group labeled our show “Primer Impacto” like. 🙂

LAS VEGAS, NV. We had a live chat episode this week. We chatted as we watched the Mexico v Iceland friendly. In a “molero” of games, Mexico had good possession throughout. Chucky played with ganas, Orbelin impressed, Gio was out of shape and Pulido scored the game winner.
We also had fellow panelists, Joel and Juan, onsite and they called in to report their thoughts on the game.
Twas a fun episode!
Then Chivas talk takes over, as they win in CopaMX. Drama on U-20 players is discussed and lots more. Check us out the audio on iTunes or your preferred podcasting app.
The latest Gentlemen’s Agreement has arrived. In this edition, CantinaMX Podcast host John Jagou, and FutMexNation Columnist Joel Aceves discuss the early success from unexpected sources. And the Gentlemen explain the Azteca myth and why it might be time to play elsewhere. As always, the Gentlemen recommend a fine sipping Tequila as an adequate enhancement to this column.
John Jagou: Joel, The LigaMX Clasura17 season is month old, and who would have guessed to see Pumas and Santos near the top of the table, joining last season’s table toppers, Xolos?
Joel Aceves: Yon, I am glad to see that the top three teams are being coached by Mexican’s and they are doing it without having had to break the piggy bank to build their squads. Of the three we can say Xolo’s is the least surprising. They finished last season in first place. At the other end we have the Apertura 2016 finalists Tigres and America having a difficult time as we had predicted.
Excellent show boys and girls! We are finally back in the LigaMX groove and we discussed the Pumas vs Chivas game that took place on Saturday. We also talked Chucky Lozano who scored 3 goals vs Leon. We ended the podcast talking a world cup with 48 teams and what that would look like. Check out the show!
It is back for 2017! In this edition of the Gentlemen’s agreement CantinaMX Podcast host, John Jagou, and CantinaMX Barfly & Futmexnation.com contributor, Joel Aceves return from the Delphic Oracle to give their interpretation of what they heard from Pythia about what to expect in 2017.
And when we say Pythia, we mean Paquita, the local bartender.
