Ep. 63: CantinaMX Futbol Podcast – Liguilla Semis are set. Goats cry!

QEPDFirst: Thoughts and prayers go to all those who have passed in Brazil, their families, friends and all affected.

An exciting Weekend of Futbol has just passed and we discuss the events on a Monday late night podcast. It has also been announced that we have changed our name. This is now the CantinaMX Futbol Podcast. Let’s hope a bar fight don’t break out.

In this episode, we talk America win over Chivas. Tigres and Gignac, back in the groove. Sad flute time for Pumas. Much more!

Ep. 62: QEPD: Dos a Zero Futbol Podcast – Liguilla is set!

Sad FluteLigaMX is over and Liguilla is set. We were ready to enjoy some good ribbing of Monterrey’s failure to qualify for the post season tournament. Our fellow rayado, Fernando was not present, however. We dedicate “sad flute” song to him.

We did analyze the matchups and made predictions. We also talked Copa Libertadores and even the USMNT firing of Jurgen Klinsmann.

Ep. 59: Dos a Zero Futbol Podcast – CopaMX: Queretaro Campeon!

Based AlmeydaIn a game where based Almeyda, chose to put in a B team for Chivas, to include Gullit and others. We talk the newly crowned CopaMX champs, Gallos Blancos from Queretaro.

We also talk US vs Mexico coming up. Good fun was had by all.

Ep. 52: Dos a Zero Futbol Podcast – Lo CruzAzuleò!

CruzAzulear An episodes full of laughter and mockery of the spectacle that is Cruz Azul. We talked their loss to America after going up 3-0. Is it psychological, a curse, bad coaching or players who just stink? We discuss this phenomena. 😀

We also talk a bit about Giovanni possibly coming back and the quote Decio De Maria gave on the topic. We still hold fast that the FMF black listed Gio and that he did not reject the call up to Copa America. With his expressed interest to join the NT again, and Decio’s back tracking comments, hopefully we see him soon.

Chivas is the greatest! Fuera Nacho! Why am I YELLING?!

Screen Shot 2016-08-31 at 2.40.01 PMAmerica loses 3-0 to Chivas in the Clasico Nacional. Chivas brings Alan Pulido to the Sacred Herd. Chivas is going to win it all right? LigaMX champs, CopaMX champs, then maybe a CCL or Libertadores? This is the super team in Mexico right now.

As far as America, well, they are in a crisis. Nacho Ambriz is getting upset with reporters, saying he will quit if he doesn’t get a title this year. Fans outside Coapa are protesting and yelling, “Fuera Ambriz”. America is going down hill right?

Calm down a second, big fella. Didn’t Chivas just lose a few weeks ago 4-0 to Xolos? Wasn’t America favored by many to win the Clasico Nacional because of their tremendous individual talent. All of a sudden all this changed? I don’t think so!

Let’s look at the Clasico Nacional. Chivas came out running like crazy, hustling to gain posession and go on the attack. Their movements worked out perfectly against America. Their passing was probably the best they have had all season. Everything worked out, every 50/50 ball, every deflection was in favor of Chivas. This game definitely went Chivas’ way, but would that always be the case. Are they now expected to win their next 5 games in a row? How long until they come back to reality, even with Pulido?

I would go as far to say, the Chivas win was a glitch in the Matrix. An Anomaly. America has the talent to do better, Chivas has been underperforming and supposedly doesn’t have any goal scoring strikers. People are surprised and worried that the National team has to now call the likes of Chivas striker, Saldivar. My question is, who would win in a 7 game series between Chivas and America. Sure that is far fetched, but in the NBA this is done to determine a true winner, that can not just win a fluke game, but endure a series of competitions.

If this were to take place, I would have to say that America wins a best of 7.

Point of this post is that we need to calm our britches. Be measured in our analysis of these results. There are still games to be played and lost or won.

I understand it is hard, when you have people like Vergara saying that Chivas is now rounding out to be the best team in Mexico. Calm down Jorge!

Ep. 44: Dos a Zero Futbol Podcast – The Kool-aid edition

Pachuca Kool AidHere we are talking about some Pachuca youth system and their fantastic facilities, then the Americanista on the panel (aka Rony) comes in and interrupts the conversation. A big discussion ensues about if nice facilities are more beneficial than a bigger club such as Chivas or America but with perhaps lesser facilities. Some heated statements ensue.

It was a fun old time.

Ep. 42: Dos a Zero Futbol Podcast – Euro talk, CR7 vs Messi, 10-8, MLS and more.

cascaritacholaAn enjoyable night of chat, with another appearance by Jonny Rico. We began talking a bit of Euro and how CR7 has took his team to the final. We noted the success CR7 is having and the bad news Messi is going through. The 10-8 rule came up again as a topic and Jonny gave us his take on it and how it could be fixed.

We then got into a huge debate about MLS with our man Fernando. This was a prolonged debate about the validity of MLS, the Giovanni issue and more hardheaded opinions. ROFL.

We also had a viewer question about a 5v5 cascarita match between our podcast and the Mexican Soccer show. That was a fun idea.

Another good episode. Be sure to check it out.

Ep. 41: Dos a Zero Futbol Podcast – ChivasTV fail, USMNT/Jurgen possession, Messi failure and Copa America.

#ChivasTVA bloody good time on the Dos A Zero podcast mates. Ragging on ChivasTV streaming failure and high prices was fun. Guadalajara sound clips were in effect. We also had fun discussing Messi and his emotional retirement announcement, right after missing a penalty and losing the Copa America final. Next time he may want to take a few days to clear his mind and think about his decision. Emotional Messi is emotional.

We also talk about the USMNT/Jurgen’s response to Fernando Regino’s question on possession tactics. We have talked previously about the “cat and mouse” game of giving the opponent possession and luring them to bring lines forward, with the purpose of releasing a lethal counter attack. This is apparently not what Jurgen’s intention was, during the Copa. Everyone wants to have possession, and a great first touch. 😀

Tune in live on Wednesdays at approximately 9pm Central on our Youtube channel and follow us on twitter for podcast announcements.

Ep. 36: Dos a Zero Futbol Podcast – America is still on someone’s mind. :D

manoIn this episode that took place on Wed Night, day before the Liguilla Final partido de Ida, we talked America, America and more America. With a mix of Arbitro. This episode of the podcast was cut short, but contains a good hour 2 panelists going against the sole Americanista on the whole Samudio drama as well as lack of quality reffing.

The hand ball was discussed, the notion that the ref helps America was also discussed. It was a passionate discussion between the 2 sides.

Also we began some discussion on the 10-8 rule in LigaMX and more. Tune in on iTunes.
